Badge guide
The badge is a link to a record's public verification page. It tells a reader that a pre-screen record exists for this logo and where to check it. This page sets out how it may be used.
What the badge is
- A mark that links to the verification page of one specific record (for example, logorecord.com/verify/LR-202609-A7K3Q2).
- Its text is limited to one of two forms: "Pre-screened {date}" or "Record #{id}".
- Badge artwork and embed code (HTML and Markdown) are provided with your issued record.
Permitted uses
- On pages, listings, and materials for the logo and brand named in the record, with the link to that record's verification page kept intact.
- On a designer's delivery page for the client's logo, with the record issued to the client.
What you may not do
- You may not place the badge next to wording that presents the record as a trademark clearance, certification, approval, or legal opinion.
- The badge is for the logo and brand named in the record only. It is not transferable to another logo.
- You may not remove or change the link, or alter the badge's wording.
Revocation
- If the rules above are broken, or if a record is cancelled, the verification page shows "Revoked by issuer". Remove the badge at that point.
For designers
- The record is issued to your client. You may be named on the cover as the requester; the client remains the owner of the record and of the decision about the mark.
- Describe the record to your client as what it is: a documented pre-screen with a timestamp. This report is not a clearance and shouldn't be described to clients as one.
- Free credits under the designer programme are for records you attach to deliveries.
